- In 1998-1999, joined statewide energy consortium to save money through bulk purchasing of energy
- In 2000-2001, self funded a $10 million bond for energy efficiencies and complete renovations of classrooms, cafeterias and libraries at Auburn Elementary School and Hampton Elementary School
- In 2005, self funded a $5.98 million bond to improve energy efficiencies
